This week-long Professional Development  was an opportunity to collaborate with educators and administrators from many cities throughout the United States.

Break-out sessions allowed us to dive deeply into the content of the common core standards and understand the instructional shifts in focus, coherence and rigor.

 Focus - identifying and understanding the major content work for each grade level

Coherence - progression of concepts between  grades, connection of concepts within grades

 Integrating the standards for mathematical practices in all phases of instruction

Rigor - desiging lessons to include all three aspects of rigor: conceptual understanding, procedural fluency and  application
